KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 19 — Eleven polling stations in the Sarawak parliamentary constituency of Baram are on hold until further notice, the Election Commission (EC) said this afternoon.

The EC said the temporary suspension is due to bad weather conditions and flooding in several areas.

“The decision to suspend voting at 11 polling centres in the Baram parliamentary constituency division P220 is due to bad weather conditions, causing officers to be unable to reach their stations by air, land, or water.

“The new date of voting will be announced later when it is safe for staff and voters to reach the polling centre to vote,” EC chairman Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Salleh said in a statement.
