KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 18 — The government’s two-year plan to execute the 11th Malaysia Plan (11MP) is not overambitious as it was thoroughly deliberated with Cabinet ministers and relevant authorities, Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said today.
“I don’t think the plan is overambitious. We have discussed and consulted with all the ministers we deliberated all the proposals in the Cabinet [meeting].
“We got the consent from the PM and all the relevant authorities,” the Economic Affairs Minister told reporters after the mid-term review of the 11MP was tabled by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad in Parliament today.
Azmin said a clear mandate has been given to all the cabinet minister and he was confident that the ministries would be able to complete the task within the stipulated time frame.
“I believe all the ministers and ministries would be able to conduct and to complete their task within the stipulated period of time,” he said.
Meanwhile, Port Dickson MP Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the Pakatan Harapan reformation movement was a firm and smart move that reflects Dr Mahathir’s commitment to fulfill the main pledge in executing a holistic reformation.
This includes the reformation of government agencies, such as the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and the legal bodies, and he said these agencies have its own ways in managing the economy in a more transparent manner.
“MACC and the legal bodies can manage in more transparent approach while firmly dismissing corruption,” he said.
