KUALA LUMPUR, May 10 — No party has won the majority in Kedah, leaving the state with a hung assembly.
According to the Election Commission, PKR candidates won 18 of the 36 seats in the state while Barisan Nasional has 15 and PAS, 3.
Pakatan Harapan parties have won 29 seats in Perak, but are still one short of the number needed to add the state to the four they have already won.
The Election Commission announced that as of 2.27am, Barisan Nasional won 27 Perak seats while PAS has three.
Pakatan Harapan earlier retained Selangor with an even bigger majority than GE13, and have wrested Johor, Negri Sembilan and Melaka from Barisan Nasional.
The Election Commission made the announcement minutes ago, based on official results obtained so far.
In Selangor, Pakatan Harapan parties contesting under PKR won 29 seats, while BN won three. PAS won none.
In Johor, Pakatan Harapan parties contesting under PKR won 29 seats. BN won 16, while PAS won one.
In Melaka, Pakatan Harapan parties contesting under PKR won 15 seats. BN won 10, while PAS won none.
Barisan Nasional has lost Negri Sembilan for the first time ever, according to official results announced by the Election Commission.
EC deputy chairman Tan Sri Othman Mahmud announced this morning that PKR candidates won 20 of the state’s 36 seats while BN took 16.
Coincidentally, outgoing mentri besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hassan won the first seat of the general election uncontested on nomination day.
The EC earlier announced that BN lost Terengganu to PAS but managed to retain Pahang and Perlis, based on official results.
EC chairman Tan Sri Mohd Hashim Abdullah explained that these results were not the full results, but released based on political parties which had enough numbers to form a simple majority in these states.
In Terengganu, PAS won 18 state seats, while BN won eight. Pakatan Harapan parties contesting under PKR won zero seats.
For Kelantan, PAS retained the state with 28 seats, while BN has seven. PH parties have won none so far.
In Pahang, BN won 22 seats, PAS eight seats while PH parties won none.
For Perlis, BN won 10 seats. PAS won two seats while PH parties contesting under PKR won three.
