KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 3 — The full rehearsal of the 2017 Umno General Asembly went on smoothly at Plaza Merdeka, Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) here today, prior to its opening on Tuesday.
The rehearsal , which started at 7.30am under the supervision of Umno executive secretary Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh, began with a parade by 150 Umno Youth, Wanita and Puteri members.
It was then followed by the hoisting of the Umno flag, Sang Saka Bangsa, and then by singing of the party song Bersatu, Bersetia, Berkhidmat.
Apart from the parade, there will also be a rehearsal for the hall events of the three party wings and the opening of the general assembly at Dewan Merdeka, PWTC.
Meanwhile, Abd Rauf, when met by reporters, said today’s rehearsal was part of the final preparation for the big event.
“Overall, the preparation has gone on smoothly, there are not many changes,” he said.
The general assembly, to be held from Dec 5 to 9, will be attended by 5,739 delegates. — Bernama
