KUALA LUMPUR, May 15 — Malaysia is waiting for Singapore's reply to its application to revise the International Court of Justice’s (ICJ) decision on Pulau Batu Puteh, Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali said today.

He added that Singapore has until June 14 to reply and Malaysia will decide its next course of action after that.

“Batu Puteh is doing fine, we are waiting for Singapore to reply. So when they reply, we will see what they reply and then respond accordingly,” Mohamed Apandi told reporters at the Asean Senior Law Officials Meeting in Putrajaya this morning.

Malay Mail Online was able to obtain a recording of his comments.

He also said that he has a five-man team based in London to work on the project to support Malaysia’s case to claim Pulau Batu Puteh — which Singapore calls Pedra Branca — for its own.

“I have five researchers in London doing work everyday. It is still not completed... many thousands of documents to go through in their archive and they are still doing it right now,” Mohamed Apandi said.

He previously said the revision was the continuity of an agreement between Malaysia and Singapore to resolve the dispute over ownership of Pulau Batu Puteh through the ICJ.

Malaysia filed on February 3 for a revision of the ICJ decision.

Pulau Batu Puteh is 19km off the coast of Johor and 40km off the coast of Singapore.
