GEORGE TOWN, Dec 7 ― A portion of Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway is closed to traffic from 10.30am until 5pm today to enable the police to finalise investigations at the site where a gunman shot three people dead and injured five others last Thursday.

A team of about 30 forensics and police officers from both the Penang police headquarters and Bukit Aman Forensics Department started combing the site where one of the victims, a motorcyclist, was killed at about 11am.

It is learnt that the investigation team will be conducting ballistics tests and combing three different sites on the highway for more evidence.

The team took about two hours to conduct tests and scan the first site using a laser scanning device to get projections of the bullet path.

They will move on to two other sites where the two other victims were killed after this.

The portion of the expressway, leading towards the first Penang Bridge, will be closed to traffic until 5pm today.

Last week, a bodyguard allegedly went on a shooting rampage where he first shot his employer Datuk Ong Teik Kwang and later also shot dead passing motorists Senthil Murugiah and Choi Hon Ming.
