Police: Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway, Penang Bridge to close on Dec 7 to facilitate murder probe

GEORGE TOWN, Dec 5 — The Tun Dr Lim Choong Eu Expressway and the Penang Bridge here will be closed from 10.30am to 5pm on December 7.

Penang Traffic Police spokesman said the closure was to facilitate the forensic ballistics investigation at the scene of a murder which occurred on December 1.           

As such, he said road users were advised to use the ferry service or the second bridge (Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah Bridge) or the road from Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah or Sungai Nibong Expressway to travel to the mainland.

“We seek the cooperation from all road users to prevent traffic congestion.  “Please use the alternative routes and follow the instruction of the traffic policemen on duty,” he said in a statement here today. — Bernama
