PETALING JAYA, Dec 5 — Seven next of kin, whose loved ones were onboard MH370, arrived in Madagascar yesterday.

Lawyer Grace Nathan, 28, whose mother Anne Daisy was one of the passengers, told Malay Mail that communicating with friends and family back home would be difficult.

“Internet access here is patchy. So I will only update in one location to keep things simple,” she said.

Grace also urged those looking for updates on the trip to follow the group on the MH370 Families group on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

“MH370 families from China, Malaysia and France, have arrived in Madagascar. Some have travelled 24 hours across five nations,” said a posting on the groups twitter account yesterday.

Lawyer turned investigator Blaine Alan Gibson, who had recovered pieces of debris since last year, will guide the families.

Gibson told Malay Mail the group would likely split up to cover more ground.

“But the main purpose of this trip is to draw attention to the debris found in this region, which has largely been ignored by the authorities,” he said.

The first piece of debris found from MH370, a two-metre wing part called a flaperon, washed up on the French Indian Ocean island of Reunion in July last year.

Since then, a range of debris linked to the flight had been found along western Indian Ocean shorelines.
