JOHOR BAHRU, June 13 — Police are probing a man for violently assaulting a female domestic helper after she was caught allegedly beating his son in viral video footage.

Johor police chief Datuk Ab Rahaman Arsad said authorities are aware of the incident that was captured on video and posted on social media.

“Police have been alerted on the matter and the case is still in the early stages of investigation,” he said in a brief reply when contacted by the media today.

Earlier, a man had allegedly assaulted a female domestic helper in what was a minute and 32-second long Facebook video.

The man, who questioned the domestic helper for beating his son, was seen punching and slapping the domestic helper in a living room setting.

A woman, believed to be the man’s wife, was seen pacing around while the assault took place.

Apart from the man and his wife, there were other voices in the video that admonished the domestic helper as she covered her face from physical blows.

It is understood that the man had earlier caught the domestic helper for beating his son on a hidden close circuit television (CCTV) camera.

It is unknown who captured the video of the incident that later uploaded on Facebook.

According to information found in a Threads post, the incident was said to have taken place recently at a residence in Taman Daya here.
