KUALA LUMPUR, March 6 — The Malaysian investigation team for the still-missing Flight MH370 will be meeting with the Mozambique officials over the discovery of debris there, Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said today.

Liow said that they would ask the Mozambican Civil Aviation Institute’s director-general for more details on the debris found washed up on a beach along the southern African nation’s coast recently.

“Our team has arrived in Mozambique already. We will meet with the DG tomorrow and discuss the debris found there,” he told reporters at the Kepong MCA division office here.

“We need to check the debris before confirming that it belongs to MH370. In the meantime, please do not speculate.”

Earlier this week, Liow was reported as saying that the debris found in Mozambique may possibly belong to Flight MH370.

He urged everyone not to speculate on the source of the debris before the authorities had confirmed it.

Flight MH370 disappeared on March 8, 2014 while on its way to Beijing.

On January 29, 2015, Malaysia said that Flight MH370 was declared an accident under international aviation regulations, and that all 239 people on board the flight were presumed dead.
