KUALA LUMPUR, June 30 ― A road rage incident in which one driver is seen attacking another near The Summit shopping mall in Subang Jaya was captured by a dashcam and uploaded online.
In the video first uploaded to Facebook but which has since been replicated elsewhere, two drivers are seen exchanging words while attempting to merge into a single lane, before stopping further ahead behind traffic.
While stopped, the driver of the vehicle behind exits his car and continues to exchange words with the other driver who opens his car door.
The first driver then retrieves what appears to be a hammer from his vehicle before approaching the man in front, and proceeds to hold the man's head before striking a blow.
After returning the hammer to his car, he again confronts the second driver and this time strikes him in the face with an open palm.
Both men continue arguing for a moment, before the first driver attempts to leave, only to be stopped by a bystander.
Further arguments ensue, this time involving the occupants of both cars and the bystander, and attracting a gaggle of rubberneckers.
The assailant and what appears to be his family then re-enter their vehicle and drive off.
It is unclear what prompted the exchange.
