KUALA LUMPUR, April 21 — Police have detained two men who caused a ruckus and threw paint into the lobby area of the service counter at Menara Maxis in Jalan Ampang today.
During the 12.06pm incident, the two suspects, aged 45 and 57, were said to have been frustrated when their claims for the remainder of telco VIP telephone numbers were not entertained.
Kuala Lumpur Criminal Investigation Department head SAC Zainuddin Ahmad said early investigations showed that last Saturday, the two suspects who sold vehicle registration numbers and VVIP telco numbers tried to get 10 telephone registration numbers.
However, Maxis only gave them two numbers.
“One of the suspects, aged 57, was not satisfied and warned that he would return today (Tuesday) to get the remaining numbers... if not, he would create trouble,” he said when contacted.
Zainuddin said both the suspects went again to the telecommunications company today to demand the remainder of the telephone registration numbers but Maxis staff did not entertain them, causing them to become angry and start screaming.
The suspect called 10 other men and created a ruckus before throwing yellow paint into the lobby area of the counter.
“Both suspects do not have criminal records,” said Zainuddin. — Bernama
