JOHOR BARU, April 16 — A man who was on the run after allegedly stabbing his ex-fiancee to death at a supermarket car park in Kluang last Friday, was arrested, according to Johor police today.
Johor police chief Datuk Seri Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff said the man, in his 20s, was arrested about 10pm at Bandar Penawar, Kota Tinggi, two days ago.
“The man was believed to be waiting for a boat to escape to a neighbouring country,” he told reporters here today.
Mohd Mokhtar said the suspect would be remanded until next Tuesday to facilitate investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
He said the public who had information on the incident should come forward to assist.
It was reported that the victim, Nursyafikah Ahmad Ismail, 20, was believed to have been stabbed by her ex-fiance who could not accept the fact that Nursyafikah was engaged to be married to another man. — Bernama
