IPOH, March 19 — Eleven individuals, including six Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) officers and personnel in Lumut who had earlier been detained in connection with a corruption case, were released today.
Prosecuting officer Roseli Roszaini from the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) told reporters that they were released by the magistrate’s court without any bail or order.
“They were on remand for 10 days, which expired today. The investigation paper will be handed over to the deputy public prosecutor. If there is a need, they would be called again to assist in investigations,” he said.
However, the individuals were required to declare their assets to the MACC under Section 36 of the MACC Act 2009, Roseli added.
