KUALA LUMPUR, March 14 — PKR secretary-general Rafizi Ramli’s blog went offline today following what the Pandan MP said was unusually high traffic.

The site, rafiziramli.com, is currently unavailable and visitors are informed that the current bandwidth limit has been exceeded.

“My blog is down. I suspect it has been attacked because usually traffic is only high when there is a posting. I didn’t post anything today,” he said in a WhatsApp chat group.

The bandwidth usage spike also occurred despite just 397 people viewing the site 763 times today.

Rafizi said he was unsure if it was the result of a distributed denial of service attack, but said he will ask the hosting service to check.

Yesterday evening, former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir’s personal blog at chedet.cc became unavailable, prompting suspicions that it was either attacked or blocked due to his comments on 1 Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB).

But the former prime minister’s aide later clarified that the site was taken offline to protect the servers from unusually high traffic.
