KUALA LUMPUR, March 13 — A teenage boy pleaded not guilty in the Magistrate’s Court here today to a charge of kidnapping from lawful guardianship, a female acquaintance in May last year.
The 18-year-old accused allegedly abducted the victim, aged 15 at the time, at Lot 485-116 Lorong Kerdas 2, Kampung Kerdas Batu 6, Gombak here between 8pm and midnight on May 24 last year.
The teen, who is a night market trader, was charged under Section 361 of the Penal Code and could be sentenced under Section 363 of the same Act which carries a maximum seven years’ imprisonment and a fine, upon conviction.
Magistrate Nur A’minahtul Mardiah Md Nor allowed bail at RM2,500 with one surety and an additional condition that he must report to the nearest police station once a month.
The magistrate set April 23 for mention; ASP Nom Phot Prackdit conducted the prosecution. — Bernama
