GEORGE TOWN, March 11 ― Two policemen photographed sleeping at the Mak Mandin police beat base will be transferred immediately, according to state police after the image was widely circulated online.

Penang police chief Datuk Abdul Rahim Hanafi said the duo will be moved to the control room at the north Seberang Perai district police headquarters within the next 24 hours.

“I view such matters seriously and stern action will be taken,” Abdul Rahim said in a statement today.

He added that further disciplinary action will be taken against the two as an investigation paper has been opened against them for sleeping on the job.
