KUANTAN, March 11 ― A gunman fired five shots in succession at the house of Pahang football team captain, Mohd Razman Roslan, in Lorong Kubang Buaya 35 here early today.

Pahang CID chief Datuk Mohd Zakaria Ahmad said the bullets shattered the rear windscreen of Mohd Razman's Toyota Vellfire multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), which was parked at the porch.

He said Mohd Razman, 31, was watching television while his wife and two children were asleep when the footballer was awakened by the sound of gunfire outside the house about 12.30am.

“No one was injured in the incident. We are in the midst of determining the motive behind the shooting and it is premature to make any assumption on the incident,” he said.

Mohd Razman has lodged a report at the Kuantan police headquarters.

Meanwhile, Mohd Razman said he initially dismissed the sound of gunshots as mere fireworks.

“When I looked outside, I saw the rear windscreen of my MPV shattered. I rushed out of the house and was shocked to find bullet slugs near the vehicle,” he said.

He said he rushed into the house, locked the main door and called the police.

“My wife and children were not awakened by the sound of gunshots,” he said.

The Kajang-born defender said he did not know the motive behind the shooting and that he had never been threatened before. ― Bernama
