KUANTAN, Feb 27 — A manager and two employees of a petrol station sustained serious injuries in Jalan Gambang here after being slashed with a machete by two robbers.

Kuantan district police chief, ACP Abdul Aziz Salleh said in the 6.13pm incident yesterday, the manager aged 58, his wife and four of his employees were inside the petrol station.

“The victim was arranging the work shift of employees when two men on a motorcycle suddenly stopped in front of the petrol station.

“One of the robbers armed with a machete went inside and attacked the employee, then later approached and attacked the manager before ordering him to hand over the money,” he told Bernama, here, today.

During the commotion, one of his Pakistani workers was also injured after being hit in the head.

All the victims were now seeking treatment at the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital in Kuantan, he said.

Abdul Aziz said the police had also taken recordings of a closed-circuit camera (CCTV) in the premise for further investigation and the case is being investigated under Section 393 of the Penal Code for attempted robbery. — Bernama
