KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 5 — Civil service pensions will rise by up to two per cent, effective from Jan 21 when the next payments are due, The New Straits Times reported, citing a public service department official.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak previously announced that pensioners with at least 25 years in service helping Malaysia develop will get a 2 per cent hike.

According to official data, the headline rate of inflation in Malaysia was 3.0 per cent in December.
