SHAH ALAM, Jan 2 ― Selangor Mentri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali today dismissed an allegation that Perak had turned down the RM100,000 cash aid given by the Selangor government for flood victims in the state.

He said the office of the Perak mentri besar had confirmed receipt of the cheque.

“I do not have any information of the cheque being turned down because it was handed over by hand and the office of the (Perak) mentri besar, Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir, confirmed receipt.

“I do not want to comment on the matter (of rejection) because my statement is based on the information that I have,” he told reporters at the State Secretariat building here.

A portal had reported yesterday that the Perak government had declined to accept the Selangor government aid.

Selangor had given RM1 million to Kelantan and RM100,000 each to Terengganu, Pahang and Perak as aid for flood victims. ― Bernama
