KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 27 ― The Education Ministry has provided RM3.5 million in supplementary funds to the Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital (HUSM) in Kubang Kerian to buy medicines and other necessities for flood victims and outpatients, said Second Education Minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh.
The money was channelled to the hospital yesterday, he said in the latest post on his Twitter account.
“The Education Ministry has a social responsibility besides educating doctors and medical and health specialists at HUSM,” he said.
Early this month, the ministry provided RM1.5 million to the hospital.
“Hopefully, the supplementary funds can help the noble efforts of thedoctors, nurses and hospital staff,” he said. ― Bernama
