KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 9 — A grenade injured at least 14 people after it exploded outside the Sun Complex here early this morning while two undetonated explosives were also discovered at the location.
According to Star Online today, the grenades were believed to have been hurled down from the second floor of the apartment building.
The grenade is thought to have exploded after landing underneath a car parked outside a pub there, while the second unit was later found beneath a second vehicle.
The casualties have since been sent to Tung Shin Hospital and Hospital Kuala Lumpur for treatment, with a car jockey reportedly in critical condition.
Four cars were also damaged in the incident.
A preliminary police investigation report later confirmed the explosive devices to be hand grenades, following inspection by the Bomb Disposal and Forensics units.
A second grenade was detonated later at the scene, while the bomb disposal unit is in the process of triggering a third.
The report also said that two Singaporean men, two female Chinese nationals, and a Thai woman were among those injured.
