REMBAU, Oct 4 — The body of a man, tied to a motorcycle to weigh it down, was found floating in the Sungai Timun near here yesterday.
The unidentified victim was believed to have been killed elsewhere and his body dumped in the river.
The police have classified the case as murder.
Rembau police chief, DSP Ibrahim Sharif said a team of policemen walked for eight kilometres through a farm before arriving at the river after being alerted of the gruesome find about 5.30pm.
“Upon inspection, we found that the body, bundled in a plastic sack was fastened to a black Yamaha motorcycle with a green wire.
“Based on the condition of the decomposing body, we believe the victim could have been dead for less than a week.
“We have been unable to identify the body as no identification documents were found,” he said here today.
Ibrahim said, with the assistance of the district fire and rescue department, the body was taken to the main road before it was sent to the Tampin Hospital.
