KUALA LUMPUR, March 24 — The Malaysian Press Photographers Association (MPPA) today criticised members of the foreign media attending the media conference on the missing MH370 at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) here today.
Its secretary-general, Mohammad Naim Firdaus Abdul Aziz said some of the foreign media photographers wore short trousers to the conference, much to the chagrin of the local media photographers.
“They (foreign photographers) are supposed to be ahead of us in dress code, especially at a special function,” he said in a statement here today.
The daily media conference on the development of the search and rescue (SAR) for the missing aircraft had moved to PWTC, from Sama-Sama Hotel in Sepang, since yesterday due to Sama-Sama Hotel’s commitment towards guests coming for the Formula 1 Grand Prix.
Mohammad Naim Firdaus said the Information Department, which handles the media conference, should be more alert with the discipline and attire of media members covering the event.
“MPPA will submit a memorandum of protest to the Information Department on the matter,” he added. — Bernama
