KUALA LUMPUR, March 14 — The United States (US) Navy Seventh Fleet’s USS Kidd arrived in the northwestern section of the Malacca Strait today to assist in the search efforts for the Malaysia Airlines (MAS) Flight MH370.
The US Embassy, in a statement, here today said there was no detailed information on USS Kidd’s assignment in the Malacca Strait at present.
“Today there is no significant activity to report in the flight MH370 search and rescue effort as we shift our focus from the Gulf of Thailand to the northwestern section of the Malacca Strait,” the statement said.

“The P-3C Orion (navy ship) completes its search today of the northwest section of the Malacca Strait where it flew approximately 1,000 miles west with nothing significant to report,” it added.
