KUALA LUMPUR, March 10 — Malaysia Airlines (MAS) will deploy an additional aircraft to ferry families of the next-of-kin on board missing MAS Flight MH370, from Beijing to Malaysia tomorrow.

MAS chief executive officer Ahmad Jauhari Yahya said the airline was also working closely with the Chinese Government and relevant authorities to expedite issuance of passports and visa for affected families to fly into the country.

However, he said flight details of their arrival were confidential.

“This is to protect the privacy and well-being of the families during this difficult time, and respect their space. Our position is not to reveal any information on the flight or movement of the families,” he said in a statement here today.

He added that once the missing aircraft was located, a response coordination centre would be established within the vicinity to support the needs of the families.

He said MAS’ primary focus at this point was to care for the families of passengers and crew members of MH370.

“This means providing them with timely information, travel facilities, accomodation, meals, medical and emotional support. The cost of these are borne by Malaysia Airlines,” he said.

He also reiterated that the airlines would continue to be transparent in communicating with the general public via the media in all matters affecting MH370. — Bernama
