SHAH ALAM, Nov 20 — Work on Klang’s third bridge is expected to begin in July next year at a cost of RM281 million including land acquisition and consultant fees.

State Local Government, Studies and Research Committee chairman Datuk Teng Chang Khim said the Selangor Public Works Department, through Vast Consultants Sdn Bhd, was preparing the design for the bridge which was expected to be ready by February.

He said this when replying to Ng Suee Lim (DAP-Sekinchan) who wanted to know developments on the bridge during the question-and-answer session at the Selangor State Assembly here today.

He said preliminary work to gather data such as the traffic impact study, land survey, hydrology and land investigation were being carried out and expected to be completed early next month.

“Plans for land acquisition and documents related to the land acquisition process under Section 4, Land Acquisition Act 1960 have been sent to the Klang District and Land Office in mid October for further action,” he said.

A federal government agency, namely, the Public Works Department, is the technical adviser for the project. — Bernama
