KUALA TERENGGANU, Sept 25 —Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Said has closed his Fan Page Facebook account since last week following an irresponsible act by someone to hack into his account. The Menteri Besar has also received the latest information that there was another Fan Page in the Facebook although the original Fan Page Facebook had been closed.
“Someone sent an SMS (short message service) saying that there was another fake Fan Page Facebook account. Only the URL is different from ours. But we have already closed the Facebook account last week.
“There is no social media account anymore. If there was, it is a fake one,” he said.
Ahmad Said added that the Fan Page Facebook was not hacked but cloned by irresponsible people, probably due to the Umno divisional election. It was learnt that the hacker posted an update saying that Ahmad had offered to contest the Umno vice-presidency at the party polls this year and today he updated the status announcing a two-day public holiday for Terengganu in conjunction with the Walk4Malaysia programme. On Sept 17, the Menteri Besar’s Press Secretary Rosli Zakaria lodged a police report at the Kuala Terengganu police headquarters.
Rosli had said those who were behind the fake Facebook account had intended to defame the Menteri Besar. — Bernama
