LANGKAWI, Aug 26 — Langkawi will become a new port of call for Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Adventure, with the island set to welcome day‑visitors beginning 31 December 2026. The move positions Langkawi more prominently on the map for international travellers exploring Southeast Asia through varied routes and cruise experiences.
Datuk Seri Haji Iskandar Mohd Kaus, Chief Executive Officer of the Langkawi Development Authority (LADA), said the partnership marks a significant milestone for the island. “We are delighted to welcome Disney Cruise Line to Langkawi… This is an exciting opportunity to introduce a new audience to the destination beyond what they may already know,” he said, adding that LADA will work closely with tourism partners to ensure guests enjoy a memorable visit.
Passengers who choose to disembark will have the freedom to explore Langkawi according to their interests. The island offers a wide range of experiences suited to families and independent travellers — from nature‑based activities and family attractions to local crafts and cultural encounters.
Langkawi is also home to Southeast Asia’s first UNESCO Global Geopark, giving visitors a chance to experience the geological and natural heritage that defines the archipelago.
All Disney Adventure sailings will continue to begin and end in Singapore. While guests may go ashore during the Langkawi port call, embarkation and disembarkation will not be permitted on the island. Passengers must return to the ship by the all‑aboard time communicated onboard.
For Langkawi, the announcement signals the start of a new relationship with Disney Cruise Line and adds another avenue for travellers discovering Southeast Asia to include the island in their itineraries.
