KUALA LUMPUR, March 15 — Kuala Lumpur’s Chinatown has been featured in Time Out Magazine as one of its top 30 Coolest Streets in the World.

Listed at number six, Petaling Street was highlighted for its old temples and colonial shophouses which is home to some of KL’s newest drinking and dining joints as well as a shopping haven.

Amongst eateries that received special mention in the article for its local delights includes the Chocha Foodstore, Botakliquor Bar as well as the Small Shifting Space.

This marks the third annual list by the award-winning publication.

According to a release on their site, the Coolest Streets in the World list aims to highlight some of the must-visit streets, roads, avenues, plazas and boulevards in cities around the globe.

The streets were nominated by their global network of local expert editors and contributors based on their hyperlocal insights and expertise which includes factoring in food, drink, fun, art, culture as well as community vibes.

“You only really get to know a city when you veer down its side streets, and Time Out’s list of the World’s Coolest Streets celebrates the avenues, thoroughfares, backstreets and boulevards where local life really thrives,” said Time Out Magazine’s travel editor, Grace Beard.

Topping the top 30 Coolest Streets in the World list is the High Street in Melbourne, Australia while Hollywood Road in Hong Kong, China emerged second.
