KUALA LUMPUR, July 17 — An excited Indonesian groom drew chuckles from social media users when he broke a glass table during his akad nikah (marriage solemnisation) ceremony.
A clip of the unidentified groom’s antics had since been uploaded onto social media and users had a field day commenting on it.
As seen in the clip, the kadi was reading out the pronunciation during akad nikah while holding the groom’s hand.
When the groom responded to the akad nikah, he swung his hand too hard causing it to smash the glass table.
While this shocked the guests and the bride, the groom was spotted to have laughed over the incident.
Instagram user with the handle @sajiddan said the groom paid a small dowry but needed to fork out much more to replace the table.
Another user with the handle @apriansyah.deddy cheekily said if a table broke during akad nikah, the first night the bed would break.
