KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 22 —The Qatar World Cup opening match saw Ecuador bagging the win against the host nation in a 2-0 win in the group stage.

However, fans from both teams were stunned by the class act shown by neutral Japanese fans who were seen clearing up the Al Bayt Stadium following the match.

This is after a video shared by Bahrain’s influencer, Omar Al-Farooq via his Instagram which was later reshared on social media along with English translation.

“The Japanese fans decided to clean the stadium.

“It’s not even their match!

“When I asked them, ‘why are you cleaning something not related to you? The answer was, ‘Japanese never leave rubbish behind. We respect the place’,” he said in the video.

The clip shows the Blue Samurai fans going row by row picking up the rubbish left by fans and placing it into plastic bags that were brought along with them.

The supporters also picked up flags which had been thrown by fans saying that the symbols ‘command respect’.

Omar, who was present in the video, was impressed with the gesture and was also seen trading hugs with the Japanese fans.

The clip has garnered over eight million views on Omar’s Instagram and has amassed over two million views on Twitter.

This wasn’t the first time Japanese fans have been praised for their ethics as previously during the 2018 Russia World Cup, they were seen cleaning up the Rostov Arena stadium even after losing 3-2 to Belgium in a knockout loss, reported Daily Mail.

The supporters were seen crying as they hauled enormous rubbish bags around the stadium after fans had cleared out.
