SINGAPORE, May 24 — The second edition of the Michelin Guide Singapore is set to be launched on June 29, a week after the release of the Bib Gourmand selection.

The guide will be released in a glitzy event at the Fullerton Hotel Singapore. Notable eateries here will be awarded with Michelin stars while guests dine on a five-course dinner by local and international chefs from Michelin-starred establishments.

Among those presenting dishes at the dinner — which will cost S$595 (RM1,845) per diner — are Chef Seita Nakahara of one-star restaurant Terra; and Chef Jason Tan of one-star Corner House. International names include Macau’s Chef Tam Kwok Fung of two-star Jade Dragon.

Chef Curtis Duffy — whose journey as the chef and owner building his three-star Chicago restaurant, Grace, was chronicled in a 2015 documentary — will also be presenting at the Fullerton.

The burning question is what establishments in will be awarded stars. Organisers are not saying just yet.

Last year, two Singaporean hawker stalls — Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle and Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice and Noodle — were handed one star each. The inaugural Michelin guide 2016 saw a total of 29 Michelin stars being awarded here. — TODAY
