COPENHAGEN, July 11 — Norwegian municipalities and event organisers are scrambling to secure giant screens ahead of the national team’s World Cup quarter-final against England, according to Scandinavian media on Friday, reported German Press Agency (dpa).
Many local authorities and businesses plan to show Saturday’s match to large crowds, but reports said giant screens are in short supply.
Morten Reffhaug of big-screen company To-Be-More in the town of Lier told Norwegian broadcaster NRK he could barely keep up with the flood of requests for additional screens.
Broadcasters DR and SVT reported that Norwegian officials had even contacted companies in Denmark and Sweden to source more screens for what will be Norway’s first men’s World Cup quarter-final. — Bernama-dpa
