The latest instalment — the third standalone Minions film and the seventh overall entry in the Despicable Me franchise — has dethroned China's sleeper hit Dear You, ending the drama's impressive run at No. 1.

The race at the cinemas remains competitive, with Obsession leading this week's Hollywood offerings in third place, while Toy Story 5 and Supergirl continue to attract audiences.

Streaming platforms are seeing a similar battle for viewers, with Korean dramas once again dominating the charts from Agent Kim Reactivated topping Netflix's series rankings, and Reborn Rookie holds onto the No. 1 spot on Viu.
