LOS ANGELES, July 18 — Despite the ‘Fantastic Four’ being a comic book series, new reports suggest that the upcoming movie won’t actually be adapted from any previous storyline.
The film’s star Kate Mara has said that she was going to read the older graphic novels, however “the director said it wasn’t necessary.” But really, he told the whole cast that they shouldn’t read the comics because “the plot won’t be based on any history of anything already published.”
Which is lucky for Mara, as she’s “never been a fan of comics” but she is “a fan of comic book movies”.
Mara joins the likes of Michael B Jordan, Jamie Bell and Miles Teller in the upcoming movie, and director Josh Trank has previously suggested the movie will have a ‘found-footage feel’, similar to his other movies like ‘Chronicle’.
‘The Fantastic Four’ will hit the cinemas in June next year and since they’re not based of any pre-existing material, the storyline will remain a mystery for now. — Cover Media
