Bursa stops SMRT trading after shares crash 55pc

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 19 — Bursa Malaysia has suspended intraday short-selling (IDSS) on SMRT Holdings Bhd until 8.30 am tomorrow after the stock breached the price limit.

SMRT’s share price dropped sharply by 55.05 per cent, or 24.5 sen, to 20 sen at 9.48 am today. 

The shares opened today at 33 sen.

The exchange announced that the suspension was triggered after the stocks dropped by more than 15 per cent from the reference price. — Bernama
