KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 5 — Seven areas nationwide recorded Air Pollutant Index (API) readings at the unhealthy level as of 10 am today.
According to the Malaysian Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) portal, three areas in Johor recorded the highest readings, with Larkin and Pasir Gudang both registering 154, while Batu Pahat recorded 153.
Other areas recording unhealthy readings included Johan Setia in Selangor (153), Cheras in Kuala Lumpur (152), Putrajaya (152), and Nilai in Negeri Sembilan (124).
Meanwhile, 60 other areas fell into the moderate category, while only one area, Langkawi, Kedah, recorded good air quality.
API readings of 0 to 50 indicate good air quality; 51 to 100, moderate; 101 to 200, unhealthy; 201 to 300, very unhealthy; and readings exceeding 300 indicate a hazardous level. — Bernama
