Negeri Sembilan joins Johor on unhealthy air list as haze lingers

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 4 — A total of eight locations recorded Air Pollutant Index (API) readings in the unhealthy category as of 4pm today.

According to the Malaysian Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) portal, five areas in Johor were affected, involving Segamat (156), Batu Pahat (155), Kluang (152), Tangkak (151) and Larkin (111).

In Negeri Sembilan, the affected areas were Nilai (151) and Seremban (146), while Samarahan, Sarawak, recorded a reading of 117.

Meanwhile, 57 areas were in the moderate category, while three areas recorded good readings.

An API reading of zero to 50 indicates good air quality, 51 to 100 moderate, 101 to 200 unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy, and an API exceeding 300 hazardous. — Bernama
