KOTA BHARU, Sept 22 — Two police station chiefs (OCSs) in Kelantan have received reprimand letters after they failed to record any drug-related arrests for a week, said state police chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat.

He said further action might be taken if the OCSs did not improve their performance.

He said the state police headquarters is monitoring seven police stations with regard to enforcement against drug abuse and trafficking.

“If a particular station has no arrests at all for a week, I will ensure that a team from the Contingent Police Headquarters goes to the area.

“If the special task force from the IPK manages to make an arrest, the OCS concerned will be reprimanded,” he told a press conference after the Kelantan contingent police monthly assembly here today.

Mohd Yusoff said the performance of each police station is monitored weekly and presented at meetings with the head of the Narcotics Department.

He said OCSs who receive reprimand letters must ensure that their performance meets the key performance indicators again the following week.

Mohd Yusoff said a post-mortem would be conducted on Oct 15 following a three-month pilot period to identify the reasons certain police stations failed to meet the stipulated KPIs. — Bernama
