Perak govt pledges support for family of college student slain in Kelantan, says state exco

PASIR SALAK, May 7 — The Perak state government will provide all necessary assistance, including counselling services, to the family of a 19-year-old college student who was recently found dead with 61 stab wounds.

State Rural Development, Plantation, Agriculture and Food Industry Committee chairman Datuk Mohd Zolkafly Harun said the state government would continue monitoring the family’s situation and provide support whenever needed.

“I have also visited the family at their home and contributed personal donations, together with aid from several parties,” said Mohd Zolkafly, who is also the Lintang assemblyman.

He told reporters this at the Farmers, Livestock Breeders and Fishermen Meet Programme @ Kampung Gajah state constituency in conjunction with the Sejahtera Agro Tour here today.

Last Friday, the body of a 19-year-old college student was found with 61 stab wounds near a padi field in Kampung Simah, Ketereh, Kelantan.

Kelantan police chief Mohd Yusoff Mamat said the victim is believed to have been murdered elsewhere before her body was dumped at the location.

The remains of Nurfisya Zulkifly were buried at the Kampung Periang Muslim cemetery near Kuala Kangsar at 5.30 am on Saturday after a post-mortem was conducted at Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital (HRPZ II) in Kota Bharu. — Bernama
