KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 9 — No worker likes a surprise "spot check” from the boss.

Not unless that boss is Gordon Ramsay.

The British celebrity chef stunned diners when he arrived to visit his own restaurant unannounced.

In a TikTok video posted on Wednesday (December 7), the 56-year-old TV personality politely greeted patrons as he walked towards the kitchen of his Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill restaurant in Sunway Resort.

Sources say that Ramsay’s visit was to meet and check up on his Malaysian restaurant staff and chefs.

Yesterday, Ramsay also held a brief dessert masterclass for selected media members and warned them not to "let Malaysia down”.

"The whole world is watching this,” Ramsay jokingly added.

Later that evening, Ramsay mingled with invited guests at a cocktail event. Among the guests were singer Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza and model Amber Chia.

The Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill restaurant opened on June 18, 2022.
