SINGAPORE, Oct 23 — A double death occurred last night at a condominium in Novena: A man fell to his death at the foot of an apartment block at Novena Suites at about 7pm, some four hours before a woman believed to be his wife was discovered with fatal stab wounds to her torso in a bedroom of a 13th floor unit at the same block.

The man and woman have been identified by the police as Wang Chan Foo, 46, and Ng Soo San, 44, respectively.

The police have classified the cases as unnatural deaths and are investigating. TODAY understands that Wang and Ng had been living apart for two years and were undergoing divorce proceedings. Wang had rented a home at Novena Suites along Moulmein Road while Ng was staying in their matrimonial home in Toa Payoh.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was first alerted to an incident at 6.55pm. When the SCDF arrived, Wang was sitting on the ledge at the balcony. While the SCDF was in the midst of setting up a safety life air pack, Wang fell to his death. It is understood that the police tried contacting Ng to no avail.

The authorities subsequently forced entry into the Wang's condominium unit and found Ng, who was lying motionless in the bedroom. Neighbours interviewed by the police said they did not notice any unusual noise coming out of the unit prior to the deaths.

The couple left behind a daughter, 13, and a son, 7, who were not present when the deaths occurred, TODAY understands. ― TODAY
