SINGAPORE, Jan 21 — A 22-year-old man has been arrested for posting a threat on social media to bomb City Hall.

Police said in a statement today that the suspect was arrested shortly after a report was made on Jan 14.

It was believed that the suspect had posted the comments as a hoax, said the police. Investigations into the case are ongoing.

The suspect may be charged under the Breach of the Prohibition Against False Threats of Terrorist Acts under Regulation 8(1) of the United Nations (Anti-Terrorism Measures) Regulations 2001 punishable under Sec 5(1) of the United Nations Act, Chapter 339.
