LOS ANGELES, June 11 — Nike Football has unveiled the final part of its #riskeverything campaign with just days to go before the World Cup, in the form of a slick animated short film.

“The Last Game” stars some of the world’s greatest footballers, including Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar Jr., but not as we know them.

The film depicts the animated versions of the players on a mission to save the sport from the hands of a villainous mastermind, The Scientist, and his army of clone footballers.

Following the introduction of scientific clones, the players are hilariously relegated to normal life, with Ronaldo resigned to working as a shop mannequin, Rooney finding work on the Docks in Liverpool and Zlatan reduced to trying to flog copies of his autobiography.

Luckily, Brazilian legend Ronaldo (“O Fenómeno”) steps in to reassemble the players, pit them against the clones once and for all and reignite the magic of The Beautiful Game.

“The idea behind ‘The Last Game’ is to show the world that Nike, like any true lover of football, believes that the game should be brilliant, daring and bold,” said Nike’s Chief Marketing Officer, Davide Grasso.

He added: “The final 90 seconds of The Last Game prove, beyond any doubt, that brilliant football should be the only kind of football. Brilliant, creative, risk-taking football. That is what #riskeverything is all about.”
