ZURICH, Feb 24 — Swiss start-up MyKronoz is bringing what it claims is the world’s first digital smartwatch with a touchscreen and analogue hands to Mobile World Congress.
Whether it’s from Apple or Asus one thing all smartwatches with an AMOLED, TFT or LCD touchscreen have in common is a shocking battery life.
However, the ZeTime will offer owners a whole month of timekeeping between charges because its analogue hands continue to move and tell the time long after there’s no juice left to power its TFT screen.
It combines the best of both worlds: watch hands of an elegant traditional timepiece with a full color touchscreen that instantly shows incoming calls, smartphone notifications, real-time fitness activity, upcoming calendar events, daily reminders and much more, right from your wrist,” said CEO Boris Brault.
The ZeTime is Android and iOS smartphone compatible — it runs its own operating system — and can track activity, inactivity, sleep plus the wearer’s heart rate.
It can be controlled via an app, the touchscreen or via the traditionally-styled crown, the straps are interchangeable and, like a proper Swiss watch, it’s waterproof up to 30m. — AFP-Relaxnews
