CANBERRA, Oct 20 — Over 13 million Australians use AI tools in their daily lives, according to a government report, with uptake highest among people of prime working age, reported Xifnhua.
Jobs and Skills Australia (JSA), a federal government agency, released its 2026 annual report on Tuesday, revealing that an estimated 13.6 million Australians use AI tools daily.
The report said that AI uptake is highest among Australians in prime working age, with 74 per cent of people aged 25 to 34 and 72 per cent of those aged 35 to 49 reporting daily use.
It said that a survey found over 60 per cent of respondents reported using AI for information and advice and 39 per cent used AI to generate content for work or study.
JSA acting commissioner Trevor Gauld said in a media release that understanding shifts driven by the emergence of AI will be essential to helping Australia prepare for workforce opportunities and challenges. — Bernama
