KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 4 — The Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon returned to the capital’s streets, drawing thousands of runners across multiple categories, with Kenyan athletes dominating the full marathon and Malaysian runners making their mark on home soil.

Ezekiel Kemboi led a Kenyan clean sweep of the men’s full marathon, crossing the line in 2:21:15, while Yeow Ni Jia topped the Malaysian men’s category in 2:33:52.

Among the participants, Muar MP Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman completed the Asics Half Marathon with a personal best of 1 hour 38 minutes.

The 33-year-old politician described the run as his “last before marriage,” with his fiancée, actress and singer Bella Astillah, waiting at the finish line.
