KUALA LUMPUR, May 5 — The 2023 edition of the inaugural charity badminton tournament Piala SBE Ledvance has been scheduled to take place on May 13 and May 14 at the Tropicana Badminton Centre in Sungai Buloh.
The tournament, which is spearheaded by Datuk Jacky Chen, founder of SB Elektrik and Elektronik, will see its proceeds donated to the Rotary Club of Rahman Putra.
"There will be 16 teams divided into four groups. The top two teams will advance to the Cup competition and the rest will compete in the Plates event," read a statement by the organisers.
"There will be prize money and vouchers for all the podium finishers," it added.
The tournament will be officiated by Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh, and will be sponsored by Ledvance Sdn Bhd.
According to the statement, Chen said that he hoped this badminton tournament will promote goodwill and friendship among communities in Sungai Buloh and foster unity among citizens.
